JKT48 (short for JaKarTa48) is an Indonesian all-female idol group, based in Jakarta, Indonesia, where they have their own theater in the fX Sudirman mall. The group, established in 2011, was the first sister group of AKB48 outside of Japan. JKT48 is produced by Akimoto Yasushi, and signed under PT. Indonesia Musik Nusantara (part of IDN, as its current parent company), originally from Dentsu Inter Admark Media Group Indonesia (as its original subsidiary, part of Dentsu) and HITS Records (part of MNC, indirectly). The group consisted of three teams: Team J, Team KIII, and Team T. In addition, the group also has trainees called JKT48 Academy.
In March 2021, the group disbanded all teams and the academy, having all members under just JKT48.[1] However, since entering the NEW ERA project era starting in early January 2022, JKT48 has had 2 different formations, namely Regular Members and Trainees.
